Another Nor’Easter Threatens the North East

With the threat increasing for another Nor’Easter this Wednesday and Thursday in New England, folks should be getting ready for another round of power outages. In some cases, there are still people that have not got their power back from the last storm. it is possible that some part of the North East could have blizzard warnings. The following snow model shows some decent plowable snow coming to most areas.

Second Round of Storms Possible for North East!

As if the latest super storm was not enough, yet another round of potential severe weather is possible about mid week in the north east. Models are again suggesting a developing low pressure area moving up the coast and creating a wind, coastal flood and snow event.

Although not near as bad, it will be affecting many of the same areas that were just hit hard by Riley. In many cases, recovery is only beginning.

Potential New Years Eve Storm Possible

Many parts of the North East have been treated to a White Christmas this year but what about New Years? There remains the potential for a Nor’Easter to form off or on the East Coast this New Years Eve but a couple of things will have to happen in order for this scenario to take place.

The GFS shows the center of the system offshore but this could change and a storm could track either closer to the coast or farther offshore.

Blizzard Warnings for Massachusetts and New York

Blizzard warnings have been issued for eastern and SE Massachusetts along with the New York City area. Winter Storm Warnings are in place elsewhere.

Increasing clouds tonight will lead to light snow early tomorrow. The air column will remain cold enough to support snow  throughout  the region.

Snow will become heavy by the evening commute and travel will become hazardous.

Travel later in the night may become impossible. If you need to travel, be at your destination before Friday night as you will not be able to get anywhere after that.

Another Nor’Easter May Be In Store for North East

Another large Nor’Easter may be headed to the  Sandy  impacted regions next week. This is not something the folks in the north east want to hear but it could be reality. The same model that  accurately  predicted both Sandy and the last nor’easter is predicting yet another  extremely  strong storm for the same region. The  scenario  and the weather patterns are uncannily similar except for the hurricane part, of course. This system will not be tropical in nature but it could pound a knock out punch to the already storm tired North East.

Strong Coastal Storm May Affect East Coast

The strong nor’easter we have been talking about is beginning to obtain all the  ingredients  that are necessary for a robust storm to pound the north-east. Two disturbances are going to merge off the coast of the Carolinas and form yet another system that could  create  some coastal flooding along the coast of New Jersey and New York. These areas have already been hard hit by  Super storm  Sandy last week. The first signs of the  developing  storm will appear in Florida on Tuesday. Thunderstorms will march across the Sunshine State from west to east creating about a 60% chance of rain. The  developing  low will begin to move away from Florida on Tuesday night and begin to rapidly strengthen as it moves up the coast. This will drag a cold front through and allow for cooler and drier air to enter Florida the renmainder of the week.

Nor’Easter Gearing Up For Battered Northeast

The last thing that anybody in the Northeast wants to hear about is bad weather or a Nor’easter.  Unfortunately, a new storm is expected to take aim at that part of the country next week. Models are showing a nor’easterr type system forming off the coast of the Carolinas in a couple of days. This system will then chug north up the coast bringing heavy rain, strong persistent NE winds and snow to an area that has already seen enough.
