***Updated Tropical Outlook on Invest 92*****

The updated tropical outlook indicates that shower activity associated with a small area of low pressure midway between the Cape Verde Islands and the Lesser Antilles has increased over the past few hours. The area continues to suggest that organization is beginning. Satellite data also indicates that a closed low is forming. Winds near a small area in the center could be near Tropical Storm Force. A tropical depression or storm could form over the next couple of days. Interests in the Lesser Antilles should monitor the progress of Invest 92.

Tropical Update Summary 7/25/2012

Hi everybody. There are still no storms in the Atlantic or Caribbean but keep your eyes on the West. The African continent is ablaze with tropical waves all getting ready to move into the Atlantic. As you know, storms that form off the coast of Africa can be some of the most vicious of the season.August is the month when all this starts to happen. We will be watching carefully so do not be surprised if something starts to spin up over the coming days or weeks. Now is the time to get your hurricane plans together. Get your kit ready as well. Even if we do not get a storm, the food, batteries, fuel etc that you get for your kit will not go to waste. Be ready…be safe this hurricane season!!

Invest 96 Update

Hi everybody. As of this morning, Invest 96 remains disorganized but pressures continue to drop. Global models are still spread with a couple going to the Central Gulf while most of the others are focusing on some part of Florida. I do not think we are going to see an agreement until after the storm becomes either a depression or a tropical storm. The chances for development remain at about 70%. Since the system is moving little, the longer it takes for the system to get going will only prolong the unsettled weather. There are a few suggestions that the system might actually split into two. This would leave a part near Florida and another part in the Central Gulf. This would reduce the chances of development but would spread the rain out to a larger area. A recon is scheduled to investigate the system today but it could be cancelled if the system remains disorganized. http://www.joesdiscoweathercentral.com/Tropical_Web_Forecasts.html
