Treasure Coast Forecast…Aug. 2, 2014

Good afternoon Treasure Coast. Today will be the driest day of the week.With that said, moisture values will be high enough for scattered showers this afternoon. The coverage will not be widespread but showers are certainly possible.

For Sunday and Monday, a mid level trough extending from the Great Lakes to the Gulf will keep the typical sub-tropical ridge suppressed. This scenario with suitable moisture will produce scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms, especially on Monday.

East Central Florida Forecast July 18, Friday

Good morning Florida! An out of cycle cold front will bring unusually dry air to the Sunshine State today. Rain chances are cranked all the way down to 20% for today. A look at the water vapor satellite shows very low moisture levels over Florida today. The front that brought the dry air has mostly decayed so it will not affect the temperatures although it will feel cooler because of the dry air. Temperatures will still go up into the 90′;s. If you have outdoor activities or chores to do, today is the day.

Treasure Coast, Florida, Forecast for 4/30/14

Good morning Treasure Coast! Currently a flood emergency is in effect for 26 Florida counties this morning. Heavy rain persists throughout the Panhandle region and another day of heavy rain is forecast. Many are trapped in their homes and are being rescued by boat or canoe. In addition, strong storms are possible in Northeast Florida, including Jacksonville, with gusty to damaging winds and some hail.

Potential Squall Line For Treasure Coast Tomorrow

Good morning Treasure Coast! Well it looks like the rain chances will be on the increase today and tomorrow but the highest chances will be tomorrow. The rain chances today stand at 30% and tomorrow at 50%. That is 10% down from yesterdays forecast of 60%.

The latest NAM models are showing most of the precipitation moving through later tomorrow but it consistently keeps the heaviest weather to our north. The set if images shows the NAM model through the day tomorrow. As you can see, the line of storms weakens as it moves into our neighborhood. Remember, this is not a forecast but rather a model run showing what could happen. We will keep you informed in case there are any changes in this forecast.
