Invest 98 in located about 475 miles east of the Windward Islands. Showers and Thunderstorms have become a bit more organized tonight. Buoy reports well north of the circulation are reporting tropical storm force winds at this time. Upper level winds are only marginal for development however slow development is possible over the next day or two. This system has a 40% chance of development as the conditions will start to become more favorable. Strong gusty winds and heavy rain will be possible in the Windward islands.

Invest 98 Gaining Strength
Invest 98 is slowly gaining steam. Residents in the Windward Islands should be monitoring this system carefully. Global models indicate that the system should develop into at least a tropical storm. After passing through the islands most of the models show it turning more to the north. Depending on where this turn takes place will determine who might be affected down the road.
Most of the models indicate a moderately strong tropical storm forming in the next 48 to 72 hours. The areas affected could be the Windward Islands, Puerto Rico and possibly Hispaniola if the system takes its time turning north.
Tracking Invest 97 and 98
Hi everybody we are currently tracking Invest 97 and 98 in the Atlantic. Invest 97 is located near the Bahamas and conditions are not favorable for development at this time. Invest 98 is located in the Central Atlantic and conditions are currently hostile for near term development. Invest 98 does have a chance for development later in the forecast period. Many global models take the system close to the Windward Islands so this is one that they should keep an eye on. Remember that hurricane season is not yet over and tropical development is still possible.
