**New England/New York Rain**
Good morning everybody. The water vapor image looks like something out of October instead of summer. Lots of moisture is streaming in from the Atlantic and impressive amounts of rain are the result. There already has been 8-12 inches in Baltimore and over 5 inches in parts of NJ last night.
The intense rain band has already dropped over 10 inches in parts of western Long Island, as seen on the rainfall graphic. The rain will be slow to move east and with the tropical nature of the system, heavy rain will continue. Urban flooding will be the main threat.
Areas around Boston may see some enhanced flooding as the high astronomical tides will prevent the heavy rain from draining properly.
Wind gusts up to 40 MPH are possible in areas of heavy rain. There is a slight risk of an isolated tornado.
Some areas that get caught in the training effect of a heavy cell right over them could see copious rainfall amounts, as was seen in Suffolk County this AM.
The satellite/radar image shows all the flood reports in the Long Island area where up to 13 inches has fallen. Many roads in this area are closed at this hour from flooding.
