Labor Day 2013 Will Be Hurricane Free

As we head into the final official end of the summer vacation season, things are quiet in the tropics. There are two areas we are watching but the most vigorous area is in the far eastern Atlantic and even if formation occurs, it will most likely stay at sea and never affect land. This is one Labor Day where the threat for a  hurricane will not be a factor.

If you consider the fact that we have not yet had a storm turn into a hurricane and the small number of tropical storm days we have seen so far, we could be looking at one of the quietest hurricane seasons in history. This will especially be true if the current trend continues. I do not think anybody will be complaining anytime soon. Enjoy your hurricane free Labor Day!!!

Locally, we will have our normal chance of afternoon thundershowers as the day heats up but that is about it.
