Nine years ago Friday on October 24, 2005, Hurricane Wilma blasted through Florida with strong winds and rain causing widespread power outages throughout most of Florida. Wilma was the last big storm to make landfall in Florida. 2005 was also the year that Katrina devastated the Gulf states. Wilma at one point in time had the lowest recorded pressure ever recorded in the Atlantic.
We are now in season 9 of the hurricane drought which is reaching a record. With only a month to go and conditions unfavorable for development, the drought will likely continue through the remainder of the season. The problem with the lack of storms is concerning in the fact that people are going to get very complacent when a real threat does come. Sooner or later a major storm is going to threat our threat our region so every year when the hurricane season begins, it is important to have a plan of action for your family.

Invest 94 is meandering around the Caribbean with very little chance of development. We will keep a close watch on this system just in case something changes.
The following page has an entire list of archived radar video as well as video clips of the storm. Since they are old videos they are low resolution compared to present day equipment and Windows Media Player is required to view them.
