Invest 96 Getting Organized – Bahamas and Florida need to Watch

Air Force recon has found near tropical storm force winds near Puerto Rico this evening. The new information has been input into the models and as you can see the trends have shifted way to the west.

The South eastern and Central Bahamas could start receiving heavy rains tonight and Saturday. It is important to note that if the system develops, there will not be much warning for them.

Many of the latest models are now indicating a S Florida hit and a few others are still keeping it just off shore so the big question on all our minds is where will this thing go and how strong will it get? Those answers can still not be answered. If the storm gets a closed circulation and is finally named, the models will all come together with a lot more accuracy.

Remember, we are not good at forecasting intensity of storms. This system has been bouncing around all over the place the pat few days and it is now back to where it was 3 days ago. That is a good indication that these model trends could hold true.

It appears that the high pressure ridge is getting stronger, that is what the model trends are picking up on.

In short, it is best to keep watching to see what transpires tomorrow after the next recon mission.
