Chance Of Strong Storms In Florida Tonight….Winter Mix In NorthEast

****Chance Of Strong Storms Tonight With Possible Isolated Tornado…Wind Gusts to 55 MPH Possible****

Scattered thunderstorms are expected to move into Florida and the Treasure coast this afternoon. This is ahead of a cold front that is approaching the area. There is plenty of moisture and instability in the atmosphere that will trigger a secondary squall line later tonight. This is when the worst of the weather will arrive. Spotters have been put on standby and owners of NOAA weather radios should be sure they are turned on and activated tonight.

A Lake Wind Advisory is in place today along with High Surf Advisories.

Much colder temperatures will prevail after the passage of the cold front. Temperatures may drop to the 30’s in some inland areas. Along the coastal Treasure Coast we are looking at temperatures around 45 on Thanksgiving morning.

At the same time we are experiencing the bad weather, the North East will be dealing with a nor’easter from the same system. Most of the major cities will see rain and not snow. Travel on Tuesday night and Wednesday will be impacted up and down the East Coast.
