***Advisories Being Issued For Depression 2****
As of 5 PM, The first advisory of Depression 2 has been released. Currently, the system is extremely shallow and does not have a lot of convection but conditions appear to support a closed circulation. Given the dry air and moderate SST temperatures, not much in the way of strengthening is forecast. The GFS showed max wind gusts near 55 MPH before again weakening.
The cyclone will likely dissipate in about 72 hours.
The system is moving quickly towards the West and is being steered by the Atlantic sub-tropical ridge. This ridge will likely steer the system over it’s short lifetime.
Even with the forecast of dissipation, it is always a good idea to stay informed of any tropical system in case any changes in the forecast are needed.
