Severe Weather in the Central US..Nice Weather for Florida

Your Latest Florida Weather Information

Hi everybody. The Central part of the US will be experiencing sever weather today and tonight with the possibility of an out of season tornado outbreak. All this weather is the result of a cold front with an area of very moist air coupled with good wind shear in the upper atmosphere will lay the bricks for a severe storm outbreak. The high upper level winds tend to come down to the surface in the more severe storms and this in turn can cause rotation and tornadoes.

A cold front will move through our area Wednesday night with only a chance of showers. The temperatures will drop to near 70 on Friday after rising to near 85 on Wednesday. The rain chance is currently at around 30% on Wednesday night and 20% on Thursday. Do not be surprised to see Lake Wind Advisories on Thursday. The high on Friday will be a pleasant 71 degrees.

The rest of next week looks to be around a seasonal 75 degrees.

Melbourne Radar will be out of service till the end of January. They are raising the tower by 33 feet to avoid any radar beams being blocked from the south east. This is the direction of approach for most hurricanes and the NWS wants to make sure that the radar beam from that direction is 100% accurate. We should have that radar back up by the beginning of February.
