The Jet Stream is a very fast moving air current that moves across the United States. This stream can vary on how far south or north it runs across the US. The stream is used as an important forcasting tool especially during the winter months when forecasting cold snaps for various parts of the country. The images show the upperlevel winds along with a color overlay so you can follow the winds using the color overlay and the barbs to get an approximate location of the jet stream.
