Potential Winter Storm For The North East As The New Year Begins

Good morning all. The models are indicating that a snow storm could be in the works for the North East later this week. The models have been quite consistent in ringing in the New Year with a Winter Storm. As usual, there are several model solutions but one of the most reliable and most accurate, The Euro, is showing the storm move right up the coast.

Most of this will transpire on Thursday when 2 low pressure collide and merge into one larger coastal storm. With the cold temperatures, this should be a dry type of snow that will allow for high snow accumulations. In either of the model tracks, there is still a good chance of some parts of New England getting the effects of this storm starting on Thursday.

It is too soon to speculate on snow fall amounts but more of that will be known in a couple of days.

If you live in the northeast, stay tuned for the latest forecasts as this scenario begins to unfold as the New Year begins.
